Maybe this nothing but when I start my truck up after sitting for a while I get a volt reading of 14.2volts, but after driving for a while my volts will go down to a steady 13.6volts. Also if I shut the truck down and start it up I still get 13.6volts. I have to leave it shut down for a while and start it up it get 14.2volts. Is this fine, or is something wrong.

Normal,
The charging system is just trying to keep the battery topped off. You probably have something in the vehicle that is drawing off of the battery when the vehicle is off and after you start the vehicle, the alternator is recharging it. If the volts go higher that 15 Volts, measured at the battery, then you might have a problem.
