Just trying to help a lady friend. I would like to know where is the battery located on a late model Chevy Cobalt? Its about an 06 - 08 model. I raised the hood and can see the positive terminal for jump starting but cannot locate the battery itself. Its not mounted under the hood as in traditional cars. Any Cobalt owners please help. Thank you.

It is in the trunk of that vehicle. I do not remember specific location, but it is in the trunk.

I am an idiot , no really I am. Hey thank you alot. I briefly looked in the trunk but didnt pull any carpet back. I'll give it a beter look tomarro. Thanks again

It is in the trunk next to the spare tire, under the trunk floor liner.

Thank you Sparkie and Idiot. The car was displaying an Airbag code on the dashboard display for some reason. It was suggested to disconnect the negative of the battery for a couple of hours and the reconnect it to reset the computer or computerS and the airbag code should go away. If not , then take it to the dealership. Thanks again for your Help.

If the car has an airbage code then get it to a dealer and have it looked at. Air bags are not something to leave alone if they have a problem. This is a safety item and should never be dealt with lightly. Codes on newer GM vehicles can not be cleared with anything other than a Tech II scan tool.
