A long time ago I saw in the JC Whitney catalog, a set of aftermarket power window units. They were self contained in a black case that mounted on the outside of the door panel and connected directly to the crank shaft of where the crank hadle would be, you just wired + and - and you were set.

I cannot find anything like this any longer, everything is made to be mounted on the inside of the door.

Has anybody seen something like this and know where I could get them?

Nope, I found those, I am talking about one that is already in a black housing and mounts to to the door panel and directly to the splined shaft, would be like hooking a drill on the shaft directly, the unit was about 6x4 and also acted as an armrest when mounted. All the components were inside the housing.

Woohoo?  Have you got a train whistle on your bench Mr. I?  Actually I remember fitting something like that to a Fiesta van in the eighties,  I believe Clarion were giving them away to dealers.  It just about worked on the small Fiesta window, only 1 switch each side.
