I don't know if I'm posting this in the wrong section, maybe it should have been in the car security and convenience section but this is what I've noticed.

Many rookies seem to storm in with partial installs then run into trouble.

I've always worked at  finding what I need, even down to bulkhead grommet location, then testing to confirm,  then installing.  Maybe my procedure is wrong but I always feel I'm 1/3 of the way through when I've located and tested everything.

Maybe we should reprint Chris Luongo's comments on a post I think it was a year ago on alarm procedures.

Find everything, test install. Come on someone shoot me down on this, or not.

Howie, please post a link to that thread. If need be, we'll make it a "sticky".

Howie you can send it to me and I will get it into the right hands

EDIT:  Yes that is the post.  I did not see that you had responded.  You have mail.  No need to download the attachment, it is simply a Word document with that same info.

I agree. It seems like they are lost ducks in a pond before they even start to tear into things. I believe that is the whole fun of installing, to rip into it and figure stuff out.

Yimke, ripping into a panel, like "I'm just going to rip your car apart" is for workshop usage only, never, ever repeat in front of customers! I've moved this post over to the Security section, I do like your lost ducks analogy.
