Are there any timers out there that will ony shut off when the engine drops to a certain temperature?

If not, i want to be able to devise a way to have the timer drop out only when the engine has dropped to a certain temperature! I will be doing this for a customer in a 2001 ek3 honda civic ! The engine and transmission along with ecu has been swapped though, so it's essentially the resemblence of a civic!

Any ideas?

I do not know of any that will do that.  It would requre a thermal switch that would have to be added on.  You would need a normally open switch rated at the desired temp.  And a relay.  86 to constant, 85 to the thermal switch.  30 to constant, and 87 taps into the Ignition wire.  If the vehicle is above the temp, when the key is turned off, the relay will continue to power the ignition wire.  When it cools, the relay will de-energize and ignition will go away.  If this car requires multiple ignitions, you will have to power each of them.

Turbo timers are generally no used, er, I mean - required for water cooled turbos. That's a legacy from early turbos (and IMO modern blng & marketing).

If a water cooled turbo is that hot through thrashing or racing, chances are the car needs to be "warmed down" (prevent brake welding & distortions etc).

Otherwise turbo timers are simply timer based, though their time may be based on the engine or turbo temp at switch-off.

There shouldn't been any need to switch off based on engine temp - it is fraught with complications anyhow.

But a temp switch is easy - just a $5 normally-open klixon/s (thermal switch) of the right temp/s mounted wherever you want....
Or normal EFI type on-off sensors.
But I suggest an override timer in that case - ie - if not cool after 5 minutes, switch off.
