Hi all,

My very first post, so please be gentle if I've done something incorrect here. I came across this website and was really impressed.

I have a little problem - (of my own making). I have recently updated my dashboard from an early type, to later, 'Facelift' type. The later dash switch for the hazard signal is a momentary, (non-latching) single pole switch, which, (on later cars) momentarily connects a cable to ground, (-12V), the momentary grounding of that particular cable triggers something in an ECU and activates the hazard lights. Pressing the button again makes the ECU cancel the hazard lights.

I have an early car, which usually has a single pole latching switch, connecting or disconnecting two cables, no ECU involvement.

Question, can I use a relay with my new non-latching switch to obtain the desired result? Assume that I have both + and - 12V to hand.

Fingers crossed.

Kindest regards

Jonathan
