So it's been about six years or so of running the shop i work at currently and i'm now at a point where i wanna make the dough myself, the woking conditions are not conducive to my happiness anymore and i think it's time i move on, so, that being said, from the guys who own shops on the fourums, i would welcome any suggestions you have that would help me to succeed on my venture, thanks for your responses and time in advance.

Think where your local market is going, I'm guessing a lot of far eastern grey or regular imports, these aren't to US or European specs.,just Google Ford Focus, Titanium X spec and cry! So you may need head units for replacement and of course security /RS upgrades.
This has died down to nothing here, DEI went from being independent with the UK supplying Europe, on site repairs and loads of stock to nothing and part of a UK equivalent to Scosche.
So if you think the local market will buck the US-European recession driven trends, then fine.
Then get involved with diagnostics, see MAC, Snap-On etc. That will keep you going for some years. Having said that 30 years ago when I lived in Southern Florida, Bramans used to send people out to the Bahamas, etc.
Then borough $500,000. Don't use your own money!
------------- Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Diagnostics can be Great fun & profitable but if you decide to go into it, spend some Money on Training & don't look at cheap test equipment it's just not worth the hassle & will end up costing you more money than it's worth.

If you get some time, you might want to have a look at www.picoscope.com they make some nice but expensive Diagnostic tools. If you take a look in the Library area they've got a lot of info on Vehicle Diagnostics. ------------- Let US Fix It Properly.
