A friend has a problem with this vehicle, here's how it goes, at any idle rate and while driving, once the a/c is on and you turn the steering wheel the car cuts of, if not turning the steering wheel and a/c on, car runs normally, any ideas, could it be the battery, i wanted to suggest it to him, but i wanna check with you guys first to see what's a general opinion on this.

With the car not in motion, turn the wheel from stop to stop, does it cut off? I do not see how it could be the battery. Maybe a connection at the battery, but not suspecting the battery itself.

Alternator but check the belt tensions, no I'm not going downstairs to look at my Almera (same car) it's raining (what did you expect this is England, Wimbledon and cricket, bound to be raining) and dark.
Battery charged but at rest should read 12.6 volts, start the engine and test the battery again, voltage should go up to just under 14V for the first minute or so, if it only gives about 13, suspect alternator/belts.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
