My boss has a 2003 Mastercraft Prostar with Clarion as factory stereo. He bought it last summer, and we kept hearing the starboard rear speaker "farting out" like it was blown. So this spring we changed all the speakers to the new -RET model of 6.5's component sets also adding a clarion marine 4 channel amp. We figured this would fix the problem whether it was in the powered output of the head unit or a blown speaker. Well, it didn't fix it. It's doing the same thing. Do you have any ideas why it would still be "farting out" like it did before? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'd say it was corroded or a pinched wire somewhere along the line. Water & humidity can do awful things to wiring. Try running a new wire to the speaker and see if this helps.

check to make sure the speaker polarity is wired correctly
Do this with a 9 volt battery
cut the wire leads going to the speaker
put the positive from the battery to the supposed pos going to the speaker and do the same to the neg. line
when boh wires are touched the speaker if polarity is correct should pop up!
