Ok, I'm rebuilding a distributor and need to connect the new hall sensor to the OE style crimp ends. I have the PN for the ends but the dingbats at the factory discontinued them. These can't be THAT rare or proprietary.

These male ends are about .110" wide and snap into the plug end one their side, creating a "blade" for the car's harness to clip over. I have seen cars in yards where people cut off the ends and ghetto-crimped everything together, but I really need to keep this OE style of connector intact so am looking to do it right. Cutting and splicing is a possibility but the main failure of these is the wiring (its about 20-22ga phone wire), so I would like to avoid using any of the old stuff.

I can provide any dimension of this male prong if needed.

Thanks in advance.

Its a Volvo (Bosch) distributor. From an LH 2.2 system.

This connector is 1.020" long.
.500 from the tip to the lock tab
.110 wide at the end
.150 wide at the body
.065 at the crimp for the wire

I found the original connector - Volvo PN 967694 (you can Google it and see it)....however, it was discontinued.

Armour auto in the UK has these pins, 2.8 mm tab terminal, part no. M50, page 225 of their catalogue, go on-line to see.
Trouble is, it's a 100 pack.
2 more things spring to mind, M/Benz, VAG and BMW might have them as spares, they all used Bosch ignition systems at the time;
If Armour Auto here has them, what about Metra, Scosche etc, in the US?
Also there are probably Molex or Amp-Tycho equivalents if you look up Mouser or Farnell.

I can't imagine Volvo using something that is that unique - my guess is its something that was available and they happened to use it. Was discontinued when they found something far more inferior and cheaper to use on their newer higher priced models. posted_image

If the price is right, I'd take 100 of them. These hall sensors are almost $150 and the distributors themselves are becoming harder to find. Even cheap chi-com rebuilds are $250 at the blister pack parts houses. I can rebuild an original Bosch using all OE stuff for less than $100. So unless they want a small fortune for these in bulk, I could possibly use them. Thanks Howie!

There's possibly a cheaper local (to you) method.
Nearly all European* cars plus the Australian built Pontiac GTO with the Corvette Engine used European radio sockets called ISO plugs. These plugs and even the newer post 2000 Quadlock/MOST plugs and some domestic to you e.g. US market Ford Focus use the same size terminals on the HEAD UNIT side so if you can get an adaptor lead for say a pre-00 Audi/VW or Mercedes, and de-insert the tabs that might be a more convenient answer.
UK trade price for the M 50 is £4.40, = $6.60, x 2 plus postage, about $15.
*Volvo naturally didn't use ISO plugs!
