I agree. I think members that have used this site alot ( Silver and gold members ) should at least consider contributing even $ 1 or $ 2 bucks. With all the members doing this, the 12volt site can generate alot of required funds just from that little amount, only if every member pitches in.

Come on guys ( & gals ) anyone think they can help with a buck or two, just click here and jump on the bandwagon

well is free to use this site..
but as we all know, someone has to eat the cost of running it.

there are some problems with post from time to time. thats because this site uses a server that is overloaded.
it doesnt generate enough money to set up on a server of its own. if we, the people who post on here could send a few bucks every now and then maybe the site would run better for all of us. i think if "we" can help off set the cost, then we may see a lot more things on this site.

there are a lot of ideas floating around, however there is a cost for everything...lets spread the word and join together. we can help each other out and all benefit from it.

if you need anything, just drop me a line.

and by the way, the site doesnt charge for typo's!

I just tried, but the PayPal site is down until 06:30. I'll try again then. I don't have much right now (divorce and all), but I'll at least be able to chip in $25 once PayPal comes back up. I know it's not much, but like everyone else said... every little bit helps. Come on everyone... dig in and help

Thanks! to all of our contributors and those helping to promote it, you guys rock ;) The latest total is up to $270.00. Every little bit helps, so keep it comin' guys (and gals). Hopefully by the end of the month I can move this site to it's own dedicated server and eliminate some of the problems we've been experiencing.

You can sign up for a PayPal account for free. I think you even get something like a $5 credit right for signing up. There's no required usage time on the account either, I mean to say that you don't have to continue using it if you don't want to.

To all those business owners and managers who have yet to donate to this site, I would like to be the first to point out that my normal recruitment costs for installers is about $200.00-$300.00 per weekend.  I just picked up a quality installer from the ad that I posted on this sites Employment thread.  And for those of you who are unaware the cost was $0.00.  Thats a pretty significant savings in my book.  With that said, I feel compelled to raise the donation bar to $60.00 for anyone interested in "keeping up".

By the way, i'm pretty sure that there are 1 or 2 other resources here that would be helpful to most 12volt'ers.posted_image

Thanks for the site!

Yeah, just a little something.  Perhaps the next one will be a little more sizeable.

There are 35,485 forum members on 888 pages. You are on page number 1.

I've found 12volt.com invaluable.  So many helpful people here.  Would it be appropriate to charge people? 35.5K forum members-that's alot, maybe less-people that just sign up and browse and never came back...

No, I do not intend to charge people to use this site. While there are other sites that charge for a lot of the same information, my intent has always been to provide a free resource for installers and DIY'ers. If you wish to make a contribution, please do. Every dollar we receive helps offset the cost of maintaining this site.

hey guys i would like to make a contribution but is there any other way without paypal? cause it asks for a credit card and IM MAXED OUT! but id like to contribute if theres a way?

If you trust their privacy policy then you can set it up to withdraw from your bank account instead. The credit card is more for insurance (like if your bank account had insufficient funds or something like that). You can also pay with a credit card if you wanted to (that is after you aren't maxed!)
