Im looking for a switch that can toggle 4 wires from one connection to another.. hard to explain but I'll try.

I have four wires coming in. one is 12vdc positive, one is 12vdc ground, one is video positive and one is video negative. what I am trying to do is have a manual switch that I can flip to change cameras on my dvr.

the dvr only has four channels but If I can find this switch I can add other cameras and just toggle to them when needed.

anyone know of a switch like this or the correct term for it so I can search one out?

thanks

You are looking for a 4PDT switch (or relay).

And I'd suggest looking at commercial switchers designed for TV inputs.

Though 4-way mechanicals are often AUD$30 or more, I have often seen remote-controlled versions for less (eg, RANK).
But ensure they handle the camera resolution, though they are usually electronic analog through-out switches that do not have any associated conversion rates.

Using existing switchers should prevent any problems with signal degradation and interference.
(You then just need to sync the cameras for a jitter-free pic when changing over...)
