A buddy of mine needs a DC voltage inverter for his 67 MG (positive ground). He wants to install a modern radio in it without having to convert the whole thing over to negative ground. Anyone have a source that they can recommend? I've been searching google.com, but all I can find are dc/ac inverters.

No need for an inverter. Keep in mind the primary difference between a postive ground vehicle and a negative ground vehicle is the battery connection in the vehicle (excluding any electronics in the vehicle), more specifically the chassis of the vehicle. In a positive ground vehicle the positive terminal of the battery is connected to the chassis of the vehicle and the negative terminal is connected to the fuse panel, etc. On a negative ground vehicle the negtaive terminal of the battery is connected to the chassis of the vehicle and the positive terminal to the fuse panel, etc. Therefore, you'll have to completely isolate the chassis of the new radio (which is made for negative ground vehicle) from the chassis of the vehicle, then connect the radio's positive leads to the vehicle's chassis (battery positive) and the radio's ground to the negative terminal of the battery. You can add a relay to allow the radio to turn on and off with the key if need be.

Just the same if he still wants a convertor we use Astron units we purchase form Tessco. You need an account to purchase from Tessco but I am sure MCM Electronice has them as well. I am unsure of the websites but I do know that Astron makes a heck of a durable piece. Good luck.
