fuel sender ohms increase full cell

OK so in one of my cars I wanna switch to a fuel cell. The OEM sender is 55 ohm empty and 255 ohm full.

My sender options are 0-90, 10-180, 240-33, 70-10.

So I thinking going with the 10-180 sender would be the best choice. Now my question is how can I increase the sender up 45 ohms which would give me the correct empty ohm resistance of 55, but my full level will be down to 225 ohms. But that's ok, since I'm basically worried about running out of fuel.

If anyone could point me in the correct direction it would be greatly appreciated.

To increase the resistance 45 ohms across the range of the sender, you only need to add resistors inline to the fuel level wire. Since 45 ohms is not a standard value, you can string resistors in series to achieve the desired resistance or you can just use either a 43 or 47 ohm 2 or 5% resistor. You will need a 4 or 5W resistor to handle the power. Install the resistor outside of the fuel cell to be on the safe side.
