Hello all,
I have a customer with an Automate AM9 RS/ security combo installed in his 2008 Ford F-350. He bought the truck with the starter installed, and it starts daily about 2:00PM. I had replaced the remote for him as his original was dead. I was hoping the old remote was the problem, but it still starts daily. Any help withthis is greatly appreciated.

I have not installed one of these, so I know nothing about them. I did find an owners guide online that offered no help. The starter is an Automate AM9 and the truck is a 2008 Ford F-350 Deisel. Everything else on the unit seems to be working fine.
Thanks in advance.

There may be a timer unit added on and hiding somewhere that triggers the remote starter every day at the same time. I have a similar unit in my car from DEI, model 556T. It's discontinued now but if hooked up (or something similar), can be programmed to start at a certain time every day. Check the WHITE/ blue activation wire coming from the brain to see if anything is hooked up to it.

There were a few items plugged into it. I figured one of them was a shock sensor.   I will get the truck back in and look at everthing that is hooked up to it. I may find the installation manual back online to see if there is anything on that. I had not considered an external timer.
Thanks,
David

The WHITE/ blue wire is only for activating the system with an external device (turbo timer, clock timer, pushbutton, aux from alarm, etc).

That may be what's causing the issue.

The WHITE/ blue wire was not connected to anything. Is there a timer built into this starter that I can turn off? There is a clear relay box with a dial in the side that is wired into the system. I figure it's the immobilizer bypass, as I don't see one or a key-in-box.
Ideas?

I found out that this starter has a 24hr timer. Pushing the lock+start buttons simultaniously will toggle it on and off. I think it is fixed, I have not heard back from him since.

That's interesting. I always thought any timers activated by the remote were automatically reset when you turned the key to ignition.

Good to know.
