To any electronic designers,

Could anyone please design or already know of any website that would show you how to make a transformer (regulated) to give 4.5v or indeed any other voltages from a 12v car battery.

The reason is that I have a TrafficMaster device which requires 3 x AAA batteries and they run out after about a month usage. What I wanted to do is to "modify" it to be "permanently" wired into the car battery.  The power consumpton of this unit is very miniscule and it auto-shut down when the car is not in use, anyhow.

Any helpers?  Thanks.

Tim.

Any good electronics shop should be able to supply you with the necessary hardware, and inexpensively.
