Hello, I'm a noob here. I just bought a used 2006 VW Passat, it has Dynaudio speakers. Both right front and back mids/woofers aren't working. I did all the internet research, and troubleshooting basics, but am not 100% sure my diagnosis is right. I put a tone generator on the tweeter leads, and can hear it fine, but when I put the generator on the mid/woofers I can barely hear it. Does that mean the speaker(s) are bad? Or my generator isn't strong enough to push it? If it's not the speaker(s) where can I look on the site on how to troubleshoot the amp? I have a multimeter just need to be pointed in a direction.

Thanks!
Jason

Go to the amp, pull the left speaker leads and shove a PP3 across them for about 1 second. If you don't hear a rasping noise from the main speakers your amp has blown or the head unit.
Has the balance control been looked at?

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

A VW with a bad amp...no freakin way. Time to bypass.

UPDATE: It was the speakers after all. Found some replacements, installed them, and it's all good to go.
Thanks
