Hello, I have a digital LED voltage display that reads 0-99v dc. I use in my car to watch the voltage in the event im diagnosiing a electrical issue. Its never had a problem being hooked directly to the battery, or any other part of the car, except of course coil/ spark plug kinda stuff. So What I wanted to do was create a little 11 position rotary switch box that I could have 11 leads out to different parts of a working system to evaluate different systems while driving for example.
The Question:
When i go to purchase the switch should I be concerned with the amp rating with the switch since the volt meter appears to be 200v -200A compatible?
Reason for asking: 10A switches are resaonably priced. 200A switches are rediculously priced.

Any switch should do. That module probably only uses 10mA.
But do not monitor the IgCoil and similar (motor) voltages - it is probably pointless anyhow. but can certainly damage your meter. (The meter is designed to be powered from a good DC supply - eg, battery - not a 0-12V varying line with 2kV or 200V spikes etc.)
In fact other than switching between the normal primary battery and maybe alternator +12V and other battery +12V terminals, I don't see the need to want to switch and monitor other voltages.
The dash voltmeter is to inform of charging or battery problems. It is not intended for measurements that should only be done once (design) and thereafter only as part of rare maintenance checks (ie, every few years?).

I figure i was thinking into it too much.
Clarification too, I was gonna mount one of the voltmeters on the rack amp and be ther as a utility for each of the 7 relay voltage regulators, that way i can tune in the correct voltage after the install is fully complete, and in the event i change somthing, and have to change the voltage on one of the chanels.

Usually such voltage corrections are done with a DMM. They should not be required often.
