I had the most wonderful day today, I came out of work and walked to my car in the parking garage, where I found a shattered drivers side window, and saw that my brand new valentine one radar detector and garmin 52lm weren't on their mounts. After a fun visit to the security office I was pretty much told that they would report it and file it, but I probably wasn't getting my $600 dollars worth of equipment back, and I still have to deal with the window!

And I'll finally cut to the chase, I want to make a hidden compartment under my dash, there is a little bit of space bending the glove box. I want to make it with drop down or slide forward. I have my switch panel with 2 open switches that I figure I could use one to control it. So what can I use to make it move? Is there a way to wire just a standard rc style servo? So if anyone could help me understand what I need, and where to get it

Thanks,
Ben

P.S. I know I could put them in the glove box, under the seat, etc. but I figure is dome one is bold enough to smash my window to get them, they would have a problem opening up the glove box. Plus I like to do projects like this where I'm not just bolting parts on, but I'm actually making a component myself

The problem is that neither are likely to work.

Get a GPS with remote receiver, but then there's the screen issue.

And I was going to hide my radar detector behind my grille and use remote controls etc (radar detectors have been illegal here for years).
