How many of you guys that have a shop are installing customer provided equipment? We will install audio equipment but not remote starters. Do any of you guys do this or just charge a higher hourly rate for whatever they happen to bring in?

Do your job right, be fair to the customer. This customer can bring in old equipment to anyone, he brought it to you. Make this customer your customer.

Charge a "Bench Test" fee, plus normal labor rates.
