redoing inside trunk

hey everyone, pretty new to this, but one Q. I have a 94 chev. cavalier, and if anyone has one, they already know that the back seat doesn't fold down like the new cars, well i actually i made it fold down by cutting the seat belt brackets off. cause when you have your subs in your trunk and have a fold down seat, there is more SPL when it's folded down. that's the main reason why i wanted the seat to fold down. now, it is really aqward and a hassel to bring it down and bring it back up...the back of the actual seat is not covered at all so i need to cover that somehow, and if you have any tips by doing so, let me know. Now, the inside of the actual trunk isn't carpeted like the new cars..like i said...and i wanna carpet it, and wanna do it in a really easy manner and cheap too :P third of all things...i wanna make an amp rack too..so please...if anyone reads this..please give me tips and ideas please!

Instead of "folding down” the back seat you should cut a whole in the middle of the   rear deck to vent your trunk to the cabin. I use this in allot of my custom installs and it sounds the same as if the back seat were down. To cover the whole in the rear deck I like to build a speaker grill and then cover it with grill cloth https://www.speakerworks.net/grill_cloth.html the same color as the rear deck. It gives a nice stock look and still allows you to have people sit in the back. As far as carpeting the whole trunk I have no idea on that most trunks have a molded carpet that fits right in. I have no idea on how to carpet like that, starch might work.  But you should talk with an upholstery shop also try looking on https://www.cardomain.com for ideas

For carpet I would recommend Foss manufacturing's "trunk liner" products. I am not sure where to get them online but I go to a local marine dealer and they order it for me. To apply use a good 3M spray on adhesive and follow the directions word for word on the can. Also Foss makes a really nice unbacked carpet great for upholstery called "marine hull liner" again this is a marine product but it has been my experience that marine products hold up to a little more abuse than some others.
