i have a simple question about wiring,    i have 5 cut wires coming out my firewall, which go to the A/C wire harness on my 90 honda crx,    a guy who was working on it cut it for some reason i'm not sure of,        but now i want to connect it back up,     but i need to find out how to match up the wires from the A/C harness to the cut wires coming out the firewall ?
i understand the basics of how to read wiring and circuit diagrams, where relays & grounds are, how it says the wire colors,   but i can't find any way to tell where one color wire starts and where the other end of that same wire ends ?        my friend said it should list a number next to the wire at each end of it on the diagram, which would help know wires of the same color and how they differ from each other,
but i saw no numbers on any of the honda diagrams on my helms or chiltons manuals ?      so if anyone can help guide me how to match up these cut wires to the ones on the harness, i would totally appreciate it.

You should be able to find the other end of the cut harness, either inside the car, under the dash on passenger side, or stuffed under the hood. this link might help.

alright,   thanks for the link,   i'll be sure to check it out,

and i realise this is probably the type of thing that would be best if i just figured it out myself opposed to posting asking people online,   just cause its one of those types of things that are hard to show or describe without seeing it and stuff ....

i am not real experienced in electrical stuff,   but just enough where i installed an aftermarket head unit onto my crx, which had a cut harness from thieves, using an adapter between them, and i did that and then have done just little things such as messed with fixing power doorlock and power window troubleshooting stuff, and that type of thing,    but i still need to learn more on how to use wire or circuit diagrams,    my friend who is a mechanic said that on the wire diagram, it should list a number of some sort, at each end of every different wire, where you can follow it from one end to the other,   but it did'nt have any on my honda Helms shop manual diagram ??,   but i wish it had something like that though.

i actually know where a couple of the wires go to, cause it showed them on the diagram, but it is the wires that are'nt shown on the diagram that i don't know where they lead to ?

If there are wires that are not in the diagram, it's possible that they belong to an "aftermarket" device which was added to the car. This is where the colour code of the wire may help, by locating a similar (cut) wire and deducing if it belongs to that connection by using any additional wire colour codes from that device. Common sense can go a long way, as you have experienced.

Just look for each end, join or extend like for like, solder and use heat shrink to cover the joint.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Go to the junk yard and find a car like yours and study it
