I have a dump trailer with a three way switch powering auxiliary lighting. But now I would also like to tap into my reverse lights on my truck to power a relay to power the aux lights. So is there a way to have a relay to power a three way switch for lights?

I'm assuming you're referring to a switch with three different positions (front aux lights, off, rear aux lights- or something like that). If you're only trying to power, say, the rear aux lights when the reverse lights come on, connect a wire from the reverse light output to one side of a relay coil (85 or 86) and ground the other side of the coil. Connect terminals 30 and 87 to the terminals on your switch that control the aux lights you want.

My three way switch is only a on-on two position switch that allows me to turn on the lights from either side of the trailer.

Yeah, three-way switch can mean different things, similar to lighting in a house, but with a twist. Okay, so if you turn one switch on, you have to turn the same switch off to turn off the lights then, right?
If that's the case, then you can just wire your relay as above across one switch or the other.

In my three way setup right now i can turn the lights on and off at the right side then go to the left side and do the same thing. This is the switch i have installed--- Cole Hersee 5584 Silver SPDT On-on Toggle Switch

If what you are trying too do is power the lights when ever the reverse lights are on regardless of the 3-way switches position you will need to connect the relay output to the switch that is connected to the lights side of switch

Ha, so I still misunderstood. It's exactly like three way switches in house lighting. Go with Lurch's advice.
