My classic 1975 FMC RV has a Learjet srereo with I assume a common ground system. Plug has 4 wires, red, green, black, blue. Red is hot,  one wire is common to all speakers, one wire LF & LR, one wire RF & RR. There is a dual pot switch in the rear speaker circuit. (did not work took out  and rewired) What a nightmare!!

My problem is I want to put a new Pioneer Cd stereo in. Am I going to have to rewire for 2 wires to each speaker or can I hook up as it is wired. I shudder at the thought of fishing new wires in this rig. presant wires are stapled so I cant use one to pull new ones in. Any thoughts??

Thanks

C'm on rewire the thing, it's gonna be fun!!posted_image

Seriously, it all depends on the new HU. Most recent units are high power which means the speakers are isolated from ground.
So, make sure the one you get has speakers sharing a common ground.
Good luck!
