I am trying to wire and alpine Alpine KAC-001 accessory control module to my Smittybuilt xrc-9500 winch to control spool in and spool out. The alpine unit is a negative trigger system. How would i wire this up? Alpine and Smittybuilt just pointed fingers at each other. Thanks

How much current will the smittybuilt draw at max load?
Depending on that answer will determine the size of the relays needed.

I did a quick search for the winch and it looks like it has a wired hand controller off of an XLR type of connector. The wiring on the controller looks small so that leads me to believe it is used to control relays inside the winch assembly that are rated at the 400+ amps. If the hand held controller is controlling relays inside the winch assembly you might only need 30A or so relays that the Alpine unit would control and to really know what amperage relays would be needed would require some measurements with a meter or possibly go by the wire size on the hand held controller.

One should be able to mimic what the hand held controller is doing such as throwing power or connecting a ground for the winches internal relays.
