I am installing my pioneer deck in 97 dodge intrepid when i hook up myillumination and mydimmer wires my parkinglights come on and stay on even when the car is off ,cananyone help me
I'm assuming since you're trying to connect both illumination and dimmer that you're not using a wiring harness....shame on you! lol j/k
The dimmer and illumination wires do not need to be hooked up for the pioneer head unit to work properly. Actually I would recommend just taping them off and not even connecting to them as an incorrect connection can sometimes even damage your vehicle; at the very least it can, as you obviously have witnessed, cause weird things to happen in the vehicle.
Just make sure that any wires you do not hook up to are always taped off on both ends (head unit side and factory wiring side)

hey I got it, it is my constant wire has no power what do you suggest I do?now that I know what the problem is I really need help
thanks J
Tap into another constant wire and connect the the old wire. to this wire and make sure you fuse this wire that you add on. I would re-wire the back of the deck if it's tht bad.

good idea either tap into the cigarette lighter or direct to the constnat power in the ignition switch harness (make sure the radio is fused )
