Hello all, and Happy New Year !

Have spent the afternoon combing through Search results. Perhaps I’m leaning on the wrong Forum, or more likely, not understanding the applicability to My endeavor. If some veteran here could point me in the right direction, it would be Most Appreciated.

I’m pretty certain that diagrams can be found for wiring an ON-OFF-ON DPDT switch to control polarity on one device (e.g. fwd or reverse of a motor). But can the same switch Also be used to turn On-Off two Different devices (upward On position of rocker turns on ceiling lights, downward On position of Same rocker switch turns on floor lights) ?

If it’s a Simple Yes, is wiring notably different ? FWIW, I always use heavier gauged, quality wire than spec’d, as well as Bosch relays.

Thank you all, and Admins. if there is a better (location) for this, I encourage you to move as you see fit.

Do you have a link to the switch in question? A basic DPDT switch will have 6 terminals. 7th terminal maybe for illumination?

Just your typical 7-pin eBay Chinese knock-off of a Carling, Narva, .....

Ok, so looking on amazon 'dpdt rocker switch'. Shows diagram for switch, switch has 2 lights inside.
As labeled, common terminals are 2 and 5. Terminal 5 pairs with terminal 4 (switch operated to the left) or with terminal 6 (switch operated to the right).
These form a SPDT center-off switch.
Terminal 2 pairs with terminal 1 and internal bulb 1 (switch operated to the left) or with terminal 3 and internal bulb 2 (switch operated to the right).
The bulbs have a common terminal 7. These also form a SPDT center-off switch, which is illuminated, with an extra terminal for the illumination.
So yes since the switch is DT, it can control 2 circuits.
