1. Thought battery had gone bad; bought new battery
2. Battery dead again next morning, but battery good
3. Huge drain; managing by disconnecting battery at stops
Tried:
1. Meter in-between battery terminal and post and removed fuses one at a time. Drain did identified; Did not go away.
2. Suspected rear window Defroster as button light stays on
3. Removed panel; 40 pin connector and cannot trace which wire goes to which switch on circuit board
4. Need to know which wire to cut to eliminate rear window Defroster as probable cause of drain
Try pulling relay 11 from under the hood.

Pulled the suggested relay. Drain went from 14 to 7, but still have some sort of Drain.
This shows relays 2 and 7. This is probably wrong, though. That picture above shows 2 and 7 are ignition relays.

The cover on the car's fuse box also indicates that 2 and 7 are ignition relays. For the time being I've decided to install a wireless disconnect relay. At least I won't have to physically disconnect the battery whenever I stop. I'm puzzled by why removing #11 relay reduces the drain only by half. I can never find info on the Cadenza. I had to figure out how to replace the steering assist rubber gear buffer, the speed control sensor on one of the wheels and how to disassemble one front door. No posts or videos. I was very glad to find this site and to get your assist. Thank you!
Page never updated. Hope I'm not double posting.
I didn't catch it before, but relay 1 is the front deicer relay. Pull that along with relay 11.
If your current draw goes away from pulling the two relays, check for a ground at pin 34 of connector A behind the ac control panel. This may be an orange wire. If this wire stays at ground and pushing the defroster button doesn't make it go away, then the ac panel needs to be replaced. If this is the case, you might cut this wire and put a hidden toggle switch, or even wire in a relay so the ignition must be on to activate it.
I just told my wife about the advice I've been getting from you and how you really "know your stuff!" I'll try that today. I've gotten parts from wrecking yards in Dallas, so may be able to pick up the panel there. (We had a hailstorm that broke out the panorama roof and thoroughly dented our hood and deck lid) I'll see how it looks when I pull the other relay. Thanks again!!
