need  to know where to get the best ground for my amp that goes to chevy astro

You can do it from any point on the metal body. Just be sure that you are making a good connection between the wire and the body. If you have a grinder you might want to file the area down, if not you can get sandpaper and do i

thanks bberman i think the problem is that I did'nt  sand the area down. it's in top of paint posted_image

the best ground is to go directly to the chassis, like a framrail of something. grounding to the body is not always the best way to go. it maybe the fastest, but you get a far better ground from the chassis.
