i am trying to remove the handlebar on the passenger door of a 99 lincoln towncar. are there screws in it or something or is it permanantly fixed? im sure it comes off somehow.. any help would be greatly appreciated   THANKS!!

Yes! At either end of the handle, there is a philips head screw that is driven up (look at the bottom of either end- you'll see a hole). Remove those screws, then you can remove the door panel easily.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, i will try it tomorrow.
what i saw was little slots behind the actual handle, where it goes into the plastic and i tried to get a screwdriver in there before but couldnt find a screw so i will have to get a smaller driver and try again. i was a little worried about screwing it up too so that made me check here first. THANKS AGAIN,
