Hi. I'm new to this forum and I got to say it was very helpful in getting my system hooked up. But I have a question. I just bought a power inverter (400watts) to use in my 2000 Accord. The inverter just has a positive and negative side which has to be hooked up directly to the battery. It has a switch on it to turn it on and off. But my question is How can I hook up the inverter to turn on when I start the car and turn off when I take the keys out of the ignition. I wanted to hook it up to the ignition wire but anytime i did that I blew a fuse. I heard that it's too much watts for that. So what's my other option. Can I use a relay so something. Thanks.
You can use a relay and wire it like this:

Thanks for the quick reply. So i'm guessing pin 87 would be directly from the battery and pin 85 would be an ignition wire and pin 30 would go to the inverter. Please correct me if i'm wrong. And is this safe? This won't be messing with the ignition (turn on wire) or anything like that .
There should be 2 wires going to that switch on your inverter. connect one of them to pin 30 and the other to pin 87. Then 85 would go to constant ground and 86 to one of your ignition wires.
