I am needing some information about Chevy's great idea of data retention. Is the relocation harness needed for every vehicle that chimes through the door speaker?

not anymore!!! If the car doesnt have bose or onstar, you can use an adapter from PAC, the C2R-GM24, which keeps all the safety chimes when you replace the factory head unit.check out their website https://www.go2pac.com this is an awesome company with adapters for anything you can think of
