I am trying to change out the stock AM/FM/Cassette in the 94 Explore I just bought, but I am getting no where. I have the Haynes manual, user manual and wiring chart from this forum but the color codes don't match up. I can't even fin a short placed at the speaker in the wires where the radio came out of. Is there an AMP somewhere? Is there another wire diagram somewhere? Thanks in advance.
i dont think your vehicle has an amp. use a DMM to find the speaker wires by testing all of them until you find an ohm load. then pop with drill battery so you know which speaker the pair of speaker wires lead to. and use a test light to find the constant and acc. wires. or try this link. actually, according to the link, you do have an amp. the turn on wire is blue, same as the head unit should be (or blue/white on the head unit)

mabe too late. but chances are you have an amp. is one of the connectors on your factory deck half inch by half inch square connector? if so you do have an amp. It is in the rear panel passanger cargo area.. you can either run wires back there for you speakers. or get a metra adapter. and run rca output from your deck into it. only problem with doing that is you are limited to the factory amp for output and chances are your new deck puts out way more than the factory amp. I usually run new wires back and bypass the amp..
