i have a 2001 dodge stratus. The problem is when i hit the door lock switch i hear the relays in the control module clicking. but the door locks dont move. they did work until i probed 1 wire to find out if i had the correct wire. I know to put an alarm in this car it is one wire resisted to operate the locks. i was just wondering if it was possible for me to have blown the control module or is there something i am missing. i checked all the fuses and they are all good.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

what kind of probe do you have? If you used a light bulb type test probe, then thers your problem. You can't use light bulb test probs on the new vehicles made today, because the light bulb has a resistance and if it has a resistance that the thing you are probeing dosn't like, then you can frig it right up.
Auto starts tech line told me that, aparently you can kill the computer by just probeing the wrong wire with the old test lights. So i need to get a new kind that has LED's to show if the wire is hot, and positive or negative. If anyone knows what those probs are called i would be happy so i can buy one.
As for your problem, call the company that makes the starter/alarm and talk to a tech rep, they just know to much, its insane!
yeah never, never, never use a test light for finding the right wires in a vehicle for an alarm! they can short out things, and you sometimes wont be able to find the right wires.

I did not use a regular bulb test light. it was a wire monitoring test light that i used .

dodge stratus door locks are a little complicated they are a single wire system, that requires correct resistors.follow the wires coming from the door it will be WHITE/ lt green stripe.but call the tech line from the starter co.and the will be more than happy to help you out..call the on a cordless phone when you are installing ya know if ya have any questions...
What did you have the wire monitoring test light attached to when you touched the door lock wire ? (-) or (+) ?
