I have the above mentioned truck without factory keyless entry, I just purchased the complete factory kit that includes transmitters and module. Any ideas about the difficulty this install will be?? any advice on this topic??

Thanx

Hey bub, you are gonna have some fun with this install, for starters you will have to access the BCM(body control module)which is intergrated into the back of the gauge cluster(m.p.h,gas,batt,etc.).I also beleive that you have to change out the clock spring if you want the immobilizer to work.I work at dodge dealership doing the aftermarket alarms, but I have also seen the mopar unit installed.(question? your truck, does it have pwr.dr.locks?)I could get the factory directions for you on mon.Why do you want to install the mopar unit,I think it would have been fine to have a good aftermarket alarm installed, and a lot easier install.

Dan's right about the OEM installed alarms. Plus the range is crap on those OEM alarms. Your better off with a less expensive aftermarket one that does alot more and easier to install.

Thanx for the Response guys, but I think Maybe I didn't make my question clear. I'M only speaking of a keyless entry system, Not an alarm system. All I want is to lock\unlock by remote transmitter. Sorry for any confusion. But I really do appreciate the info and responses.

Same goes for the keyless entry modules that you buy aftermarket. The range is 2or 3 times that of the OEM keyless modules. You still better off with the aftermarket ones with greater range and some even have the options of " alarm features ".

No Dan, It's loaded with all options (pwr windows, pwr locks) it's just that keyless entry was not an option ......

I'm hoping that somewhere on this truck, there's a wire harness or a plug that will just plug into the keyless entry module (OEM Module) that I purchsed from Dodge, and all the features will work..( domelight entry, remote lock/unlock)

thanx
