who knows how to make a ground loop isolater or can explain how it works (specificly).
Also I cant find any info about common ground b.s. Need some info on what is up with common ground and options to reverse it or fix it! Would rather not rewire entire car.
Well any info would be grate
Post up some more info about your application and problems. Rewire the car my friend, I know it's a pain in the a$$ but it must be done. A ground loop isolator like the scosche es034 decouples grounds between peices of equipment. Sometimes if you have a poor ground inside of a piece of electronics the electronics looks for another ground through the ground plane of the rca's. This difference in ground potentials can cause a really annoying whine in the speakers. A ground loop isolator helps to solve this problem, sometimes completely, more often not, it however does not solve the problem, but is a bandaid for it.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
I know where the problem is located.
I know that it is a ground coupling problem,
I am a installer and I know that the problem also has to do with common ground wiring in the speakers of the car. I can not find any ground loop isolaters, and i am out of stock of them at work that is why I wanted to build one. So that is why i rewired the entire stearo system. NOt ALOT OF $$$$$$ easyest thing to do without following a bunch of wiring bs. JUST RIP AND REDO that is what I do. TROUBLE SHOOTING IS FOR THE BIRDS!!!! EVEN ON ALARM PROBLEMS RIP AND REDO. If I wire it up than I know it is done right. So anyways thanks for the help
You have two options for common ground cars. 1) find an old deck that is common ground, 2) REWIRE the car. As far as your ground loop, what do you have installed(deck, amp, eq)? If you are absolutely out of stock of them find a radio shack.
