anybody have any experience tuning ECU's?
i was wondering what kinda work was involved... and im not talking about punching keys on a programmer, theres a manual way right? or am i just an idiot....
Man, you must be lost. First, unless you are programmer by trade this is something that you should leave to professionals. There are plenty of places that will reprogram you ecu, depending on type. Also JET makes chips/modules that are cheap and effective for most vehicles. Just curious what type of car do you have?

actually i program, but is it a normal computer programming language or something like that, i know binary, hex, java, c++, visual basic, and c#
but i doubt it would be anything like that, and i was wondering if i could rig up a port for it to talk to my computer
i have an explorer, its not for me, but i wanna know how to do it
I know more about honda's then any other type of vehicle. I came across a site that dealt with the programming aspect of ecu tuning, but I can't for the life of me find it again. What I do remember was that you would need to pull the "chip" and put it into a board and re-burn it with the new fuel/ignition maps.
