I'm in the process of wiring my race car and need to build wiring harness for the EFI system, interior dashboard, etc. I'm looking for a wire supplier that supplies wiring with insulation in various colors and with stripes (just like the OEM's use in there harnesses). Also, it would be nice if they had reasonable prices, I'm on a budget :)

Below is a link to 101 wire companies, which also links you to their websites. Let me know if you turn up anything that meets your needs, as I am also in the market to complete a project where I require multi-colored wires for proper identification.

Right now the only thing I use is CAT-5 to 7 cable. For low current devices, which are aprox 22-24 guage. And wires for commercial fryers.

Both of which have the multi-color I need. But not all of them have the proper guage that is required.

Try this. These guys have really good quality stuff, they will cloth-loom your harness if you want that, and the prices are not unreasonable for what you're asking for. Also, try Anixter (I don't have their web address handy)- they are a supplier of Packard wire, and they may be able to turn you on to someone who will sell the quantity you need. I buy from Anixter direct, but that's in multiple spools by K's of feet. Suggestion- buy some of those paint marker pens- you can stripe your own wire with those reasonably well, and you'll only need base colors, rather than get into trying to buy striped tracer wire.

I actually tried the perminent marker route already. But really need the multi-colored jackets for long runs, and the time it takes to do the above is more time consuming than I can afford.

Painless wiring seems to have there extreme wire in 50 ft lengths and different solid colors for $10.99/50ft @ Jegs. That is not a bad price, but there gauge selection is dismal, all they have is 14 gauge.

This company had alot of colors and various guages of wire in many spool feet. The price was very good as well.
