Ya pretty much when they are using instant on like that Im not sure it matters what you have. I have read about jammers that make their gun read a certain thing. Not sure if they work or if they are legal. I guess ya just have to hope this doesnt happen to you.

There has only been one home made radar jammer produced for automotive use, that ever worked. This was covered by R&T magazine.

The reason it worked is that it actually produced a reflective counter wave, that also transmitted over the 4 watt regulated FCC range.

This person now sits in jail for 30+ years for doing so, as each unit he sold netted 3+ years for each count.

All the other advertised units such as the Mirage, RMR, Interceptor, etc, do not emmit any amount of counter active emmissions that could affect a up to date radar gun.

Any company that states that as fact, is full of BS, and would also face federal charges for violating the FCC act, and breaking the a federal law with respect to complience of the air waves.

In simple terms, the unit would be required to produce a field strength above the 4 watt range, which requires a license, and also testing and approval from the FCC, which you would not get.

The maker would also not obtain the required federal and state allowances for such.

If you are asking about laser radar . . . Then that is another matter. There are many things on the market that do work, but simply installing and running hi intensity running lights will also give you the same benefit, other than the fact of choosing the correct color of vehicle, hood bra, and removing the front license plate.

All of these simple things will reduce the accuracy of the laser gun in terms of distance, but will not prevent him from aquiring you sooner, than later.

In closing, the Valentine One is not the best radar detector on the market to date. But was the first to implement all the basic, and human ergonomics that make a product great !

To date, they continue to manufacture and sell one of the most effective and simple radar / laser detectors on the open market.

If coupled with common sense... You will be well armed against the average state trooper, wanting to rack up his quota...

Just my thoughts...
