i need help finding the IAT sensor on my intake, i bought a chip to replace it, and i cant figure out where it is..thank you

It's located in the air intake tube for the engine. It usually has two wires on it ( tan and RED / black or just black)

Man I hope you didn't spend much for a resistor, because that is all that "chip" is.

lol. i spent 30 cents at radio shack..lol.. when i put it in. the check engine light comes on,, is that bad? any words of wisdom??

It sounds like the resistor that you bought is out of the normal range of what that sensor would be looking for.

ok.. have a 100K resistor, any suggestions,,

If the vehicle throws a MIL code while the vehicle is operational. Depending upon the vehicle year, make, and model.

The vehicle will go into *limp* mode and will never allow the engine to achieve maximum speed.

It is basicly like a rev limitor, but in other vehicles such as the Northstar engine, the ECU will actually drop two cylinders from operatiing, and run on only the last 6.

For Honda / Acura's the MIL will prevent the vehicle which is so equiped with VTEC adjustments to not allow the secondary cam lobes to lock / engage.

At the end of the day, its all about air, fuel, and combustion (compression / displacment) pressure that will yeild higher HP.

You will not see any gains with the resistor.
