I am attemting to access the ignition wiring harness to install a remote starter on a Chevy Cavalier. However, I am having trouble getting convenient access to the wiring harness near the ignition.
I'm wondering if there is a place to get info and diagrams about dismantalling the dash so that I can get to that easily.
Diagrams of where to take screws and fasteners out would be very helpful. I'm confident that I can do the wiring if I can just get to it.
Grab the wires in one of the main harnesses to the left side of the steering column. The underdash does not come down/off.

I promise to be good.
Tell Darwin I sent you.
I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.
As you found out there is no removeable "underdash" panel like most cars have. You have 2 options here.
1. Remove the bottom of the shroud that covers the ignition switch. This gives you access to the ignition harness plug and just enough room to work with the wires.
2. There is a harness running parallel to the car in the left kick area that goes into the firewall. This harness has your ignition wires and you have a lot of room to work with them..
Offhand on sunfires/cavaliers I've never removed the steering column shroud to do a remote start so obviously I use the left kick method..But it's up to you..Good luck,
