I have a 2002 4door pontiac grandam se. i have a factory keyless entry. on the remote there is a lock, unlock, trunk, and panic button. is there anyway that i can rewire my car so that when i push the panic button it will start my car? i also plan on buying an alarm, can i hardwire the alarm to the factory keyless entry as well, so that the lock, button arms the alarm and the trunk and unlock button also disarm?

Just curious as to why you want to do things backwards? Most alarm / remote starters have keyless entry built into them. ------------- Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

i know, it's just that i already have keyless entry and don't have an urgent necessity for an alarm. plus all my valuables are in my trunk and i have disabled the cabin trunk release. so the only way to open my trunk is with the remote or the key, because the backseat releases are in the trunk, so everything is well protected and i still have the factory radio in the car. i am asking if there is any way to create a remote start using the panic, not installing a manufactured remote start. is there a how-to make a homemade remote start that will work on my vehicle?

It's not worth the trouble. You can use a remote start add on that uses the factory remote to perform a start but most cars will not unlock doors with the factory remote when the car is running. Desighntech makes a decent add on that will start the car with the factory remote.

too me, it is worth the trouble. if i take an easy way out, then i cannot improve myself. besides, money is an object to me and id rather buy a few 30cent packages of supplies versus an inexpensive (faluty) product, or a high dollar (working) product. i enjoy the challenge - it's my passion, my ambition, and my car - and i don't want to try anything that would be hazardous to my car. live life to the fullest man

theres a diagram for this on this site look at the relay diagrams i think it is under special aplications.

It will cost you alot more than a few 30 cent products. With the high dollar units you speak of, you get QC tested, warranty, range, and reliability. Which you will not with your home made unit, that I can assure you.

Teken is right this will not improve you but discourage you!! The time alone this will take is not worth it,In the end lets say you get this thing working your range will suck,,Unless you build a timer this thing will run forever,there will be no microprosesor monitoring tach or voltage.Listen if you were going to do this it would take 4 times as long to hook up than a add on unit,with 4 times less features for safety of your vehicle and others. If you try to do this ,Good luck !!!! You will need it.
