I have a 2000 Explorer and recently some of the accessories haven't been working when i turn on the car. For example, my head unit will not turn on when I turn on the car, so I had to connect it to the constant rather than the switch. If anyone knows what the problem might be I'd really appriciate it if I could find out what happened. I think it might be the ignition switch, but I'm not to sure because I've never messed with one before. Thanks for any help.

Alex,

you did not mention any other accessories that were not working other than the radio.  Have you checked the fuse?  Its probably a 10 or maybe 15 amp fuse.  If you've already checked your fuses, and verified they were good using a multimeter, check the ignition harness.  Look up the colors on this site for your vehicle, and check all accessory wires to ensure they get power when they're supposed to.  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=2000&make=Ford&model=Explorer&ID=17802&type=Alarm  This link shows you only have one accessory wire in the ignition harness- it should be gray and yellow.

Check with your dealer. Ford did have a recall on ignition switches not long ago, but I don't remember what models or years were covered.
