For more help we will need to know what type of speaker, model # etc...so we know more about the speaker (rms, peak, ohms)

It takes many different things to make a speaker hit harder assuming your wanting to know about a sub...many things such as the type of box, box size, amp, vehicle, wire, etc..etc...are all factors in determing spl....

all the others should have some useful tips for you and will know much more....

good luck

You know, I read over your initial Q several times. And it really hurt my head trying to make it out.

If it wasn't for Clean Install's paraphrasing, I would have simply laughed, and went on my marry way . . .

BTW: I agree with Clean Install, more information about your equipment, and clearly stating your question would be beneficial to you, and the members of this forum.

Any speaker regardless of rms watts can distort. A speaker reproduces what it is given, feed it distortion with an amp that is rated at 100 watts, you get distortion, even though the speaker can handle more. Distortion will affect a smaller speaker like a tweeter way way quicker than a sub. A sub can dissipate much more heat that is associated to distortion before damage will be done. Mr. Clean is bang on with his reply, alot of factors determine what happens to a speaker, but no matter what, if you run an amp out of power, this equals smelly speaker. A vehicle has a red line, above it bad things usually happen to an engine, even thought the speedometer says it can go quicker, the same thing is true for a speaker.

LMAO . . . Apparently, I have rattled yours quite well !!!

This is coming from the guy who told another member to simply string along a few unspecified resistors, with no wattage rating.

Given the very fact that the current was not known in the circuit. posted_image

If you insist upon jacking threads and going out of your way to belittle me . . .

You will find that each of your replies will definately be heated, and unpleasant . . .

Feel free, to keep it up . . . I have all the time in the world to make an example out of you . . .

Drop it now, and life goes on . . .
