i'll just keep this simple, bought a car and i needed a new battery so i put one in, it ran but had no altenator belt on, so i put one on and now it dosn't work. battery is charged, changed the postive and negitive wire, checked all fuses and so any help would be great about now.

One would have to gather the alternator is faulty. If you are able to start the vehicle with the battery, it is not the battery, or starter.
I never recommend this..
But, some people simply remove the battery terminal while the vehicle is running. If the vehicle stops immediately upon doing so, the alternator is in fact faulty, or the belt tension on the pulley is too loose and is not driving the electrical system.

ignition switch. also, you have the battery fully charged b4 you put the alt on? if the battery died, the alt would keep the charge at that point the battery was at- dead. ------------- I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

I don't understand what you mean you took the belt off?? If you took the alternator belt off of the unit, which is driven by the engine.
How do you suppose the alternator will generate any power / current to keep the vehicle running?

i know that the altenator dosn't make any power when it wasn't connected but everyone i asked about this said "try it with the belt off" so i did to shut them up and i really didn't have any thing better to do anyways.

That's good to know . . .

I would seriously reconsider who you ask for technical information and advise. Those who insisted you try that are simply stupid, and without common sense.
