i just got a sidewinder 5000ESP installed a few weeks ago and today it started acting up.  i was wondering if changing the speakers in my car could have had any effect on the alarm?  instead of the usual chirp from the siren, i now get a horrible clicking noise when i arm and disarm the alarm.  i also detailed my car today, but as far as i know i didn't move any alarm components or get them wet.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check to see if the siren ground has been loosened. If nothing else... go back tot he installer and get them to look at it for you... should still be under warranty.

Since you got it detailed, there's a chance that water may have got into the siren. Check to see if the siren's mouth is facing upwards or at an exposed area that when washed, water could have gotten into the speaker.
