GUYS......your help will be appriciated.
In regards to wries in the kick pannel that run into and out of the door. The wires which when u open the driver side door are being runned in a protective Boot. How do you access these wires any tips or trade tricks. I came across a 94 Century where I cant get those wires. For the pwr door locks. I was thinking about cutting open the boot, locate the wire, extend it and fish it back into the kick pannel with a hanger. Is it a good IDEA? and once I cut the boot how can I close it back up besides using electrical tape? Professionalism PLEASE........The wires are hard because of the emergency Brake cable. and the height of the wires. I Can see them budled in electrical tape.
THANKS guys;)
if you absolutly can not get to the wires in the kick panel i would get them in the door not the boot. then you can fish it through the boot with out cutting it on most vehicles.
I'd strongly advise against cutting the boot. Pop it out of the car body and slide it into the door until you can easily access the wires coming from the door. It's a lot easier to get the wire into the driver's kick panel this way too.
Thanx guys......Any other IDeas or suggetions.....THANX....
I'm with Chris..Pop both sides of the boot loose. Push the door side of the boot into the door and slide as much of the boot as possible into the door. Then slide just a bit of the car side of the boot into the door so that it catches and doesn't keep coming back out while your trying to work. Just don't stuff the whole thing in as I can imagine it would be a pain to get out! Some boots you would have no chance at getting to the wires, but usually it seems the ones you need to work in the boot really aren't too bad. Good luck,
Mike
