1995 Monte Carlo. Passenger side window will not work. Bought a new motor and in the process of installing it discovered that both the old and new motors worked when the window switch was pressed to roll UP the window but NOTHING happens when pressed to roll it down. Both the individual and master switches exhibit this behavior so it seems not to be a switch problem. Am I dealing with a broken wire somewhere? What else could be wrong?
Please help!
Try using your DMM on set to continuity and check for this from the switch to the motor and the control module to the switch and fromt he control module to the motor. If there is a break in the line you'll find it this way.

Hey RichR,
I bet you that the passenger window NC up switch contact is burned in the drivers door. Both the left and right door switches that control the passenger door down rely on the normally closed ground contact when the switch is in the rest position. One way to test is to disconnect the motor in the passenger door and see if you have continuity between the light blue wire and ground. If not then for sure it's the problem I described above.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
I also have a recurring problem with my 97 chevy camaro power windows. I am currently on my third motor in the drivers door. The problem that I am now currently facing is that the window goes down slowly and sometimes stops half way. I need to wait a few minutes before I can make it go down the rest of the way. However, the window does not have a problem going up. Any advice?
the camaro windows suck. The helper spring is probaly too strong, thats why it goes up fine, but down slow.
I have a similar problem with my 98 WS6, the drivers door goes down slow, but up fine, new motor was put in 6 months ago, i will be tearing apart the door and see what i can lubricate, ect.
The window motors in those cars, are a piece of junk from the factory, and the only good news is that autozone makes a lifetime warranty motor for $50.
Ryan.
