The 2002 ford f-350s have a factory illumated exit feature that turns the dome light on every time the ignition is turned off. When installing a remote start /alarm the alarm is triggered every time the remote starts run time expires or everytime the remote start is shut off by the remote. I can't use the door pins because they work opposite of most(wires go to ground when the door is shut). Is there a way around this other than using a timed relay?

You can reverse the polarity of the door trigger wire to a (-) trigger with a relay.

POSITIVE INPUT ----> NEGATIVE OUTPUT
  • 87 & 86 -  CHASSIS ground
  • 30 - Ground OUTPUT
  • 85 - 12 volt INPUT
  • 87a - NOT USED

When the doors are opened the ground goes away. The wire then lights my test light dimmly(red). I have not tested it with my meter or tried to made it trip a relay but I dont think it is enough to trip a relay or to activate a positive door trigger. I will try this next time.
