I'm wondering what exactly a channel creator/expander does and how it works...

I understand that it adds channels, but how does it work?  Do you end up hitting one button once for channel one, twice for channel two, 3x for channel three, etc. or does it work some other way?

Most channel expanders have a remote control that has a " SHIFT " button that you can press where it will recognize to go to the other channel when the combonation of the two buttons are used. I'm not sure on how the internal workings are of the module, but most require that the alarm's existing AUX channels be connected to the expansion module for it to work properly.
